The curtains have closed on two unforgettable productions in our wonderful community, leaving behind a trail of memories, applause, and beaming pride. Northwestern Middle School's "Newsies JR." and Zachary High School's Spring Musical "Into the Woods" both captivated audiences with their talented young casts, impressive sets, and captivating storylines.

I had the pleasure of hearing all about these productions from my sons, who were lucky enough to attend field trips to see both plays. They absolutely loved them! My youngest son, Jack, was so inspired by "Newsies JR." that he came home and searched for the Disney movie on TV. But, as he proudly declared, "The play was way better!"

The Northwestern Middle School cast brought the inspiring true story of newsboys in 19th-century New York City to life with their energetic performances, memorable songs, and impressive choreography. Standout performances included Xavier Haynes as Jack Kelly, Sarah Fannin as Katherine, and Donovan Clark as Davey.

Meanwhile, Zachary High School's production of "Into the Woods" wowed audiences with its complex characters, witty dialogue, and stunning musical numbers. The talented cast navigated the intricate storyline with ease, bringing to life beloved fairy tale characters like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. Jack gave the performance a well-deserved 5 stars!

Both productions showcased the incredible talent and dedication of Zachary's young thespians. Congratulations to the casts, crews, and directors on two fantastic shows! If you missed these productions, don't worry – there are always more exciting performances to look forward to in Zachary's thriving theater scene. Stay tuned for upcoming shows and events!
