The crack of the bat, the smell of the outdoors, and the sound of a kid yelling "I got it! I got it!" – it's finally here, folks! It’s time for the 2025 Spring Baseball Season in Zachary! My family couldn't be more excited!

The baseball field has an excellent concession stand. Jack and Jacob absolutely love getting snacks there. Every time we go, Jack always says, “I brought my money for a drink.” Jacob chimes in, "And don't forget the snacks! I always make sure to order nachos for extra energy!"

But baseball is more than a game – it's a way of life. It teaches our kids valuable skills like teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Let’s face it, even the lost games, teach character no matter how much they make my heart ache. It helps the players develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. And, let's be honest, it's just plain fun!

My sons Jack and Jacob are living proof of the magic of baseball. Last season, Jack got to play with his friends, and Jacob got to play with Jack's teammates' little brothers and sisters. The whole community came together to cheer the teams on, and even Jack and Jacob’s grandma and pawpaw made it down to the games from Mississippi!

The coaches and assistant coaches always put so much effort into coaching. They put so much heart and soul into their teams. It truly warms my heart. 

Now, it's your turn to join the fun! Registration is now open (February 17 - March 3) for all your sluggers out there. Don't miss your chance to be part of the excitement!

Here are the important deets:

- Scheduled Practices: March 31 - April 24

- Scheduled Games: April 28 - June 5

- Divisions: T-ball (Ages 4-6), Coaches' Pitch (6-8), 10-under, 12-under, and 14-under

- April 30 is the cut-off date for age determination (don't worry, they won't make you show your birth certificate... unless you're trying to sneak in an extra year of T-ball eligibility)

- Registration Fee: $75 (a small price to pay for all the fun you'll have)

And, hey, coaches and assistant coaches are needed! If you're passionate about baseball and working with kids, register now. A coaches' meeting will be scheduled soon after registration closes, so don't miss out!

Important reminders:

- Please come to tryouts with your own bat and helmet.

- Teams will determine the color pants needed.

- There is a place for batting practice
