The Little School at Zachary United Methodist Church announced today that they are making some changes to the preschool program to offer more consistent care throughout the year. The preschool has always followed the same schedule as the ZCSD, with summer and holiday closures, which usually doesn't align with the schedules of working parents. 

Starting this summer, The Little School will be offering full-time summer care for June and July, with extended hours to support your schedules. Our summer hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

In August, we will transition to a new school year calendar unique to The Little School for the school year. This calendar will include fewer closures for holidays and breaks, helping to align with your family's needs more seamlessly. Additionally, we will adjust our regular school year operating hours to 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning in August.

The registration fee for the summer program is $150, and tuition remains the same: $850 per month for full-day care and $550 per month for half-day care. 

The Little School was founded in 1976 by four teachers as an outreach ministry for ZUMC to provide care for children aged 6 weeks through preK 4. The school's philosophy is that learning should be a joyful experience that involves hand-on activities. Students receive daily lessons tailored to their specific ages and developmental stages. Instructors follow an in-house Bible curriculum based on a preschool Bible, and students have the option to participate in weekly age-appropriate chapel services.
