The Zachary Running Club took its first strides toward building a healthier community last Saturday, when a diverse group gathered at Zachary Youth Park for their inaugural run. Led by club founder Kenedi Stephens, the dozen participants kicked off their journey along the scenic Americana trail, completing the route in about 45 minutes.
"I can't wait for it to grow," Stephens says, noting plans to establish a regular 5K route for future runs. "We kept it simple [this time] with a two-mile run, but we're trying to pick the right 5K route soon."

The club emphasizes inclusivity, welcoming runners of all ages and experience levels to join their weekend outings. Parents pushing strollers run alongside seasoned runners, creating a supportive atmosphere that makes newcomers feel right at home.
Beyond the physical benefits, the club serves as a hub for local running enthusiasts to connect and share information about upcoming races and events in the area. Runners interested in joining should join the Zachary Running Club's Facebook page to stay up to date on the latest meet up times and locations.
