State Legislature Mandates Financial Education in Public Schools

The Bank of Zachary proudly announces the grand opening of its newest branch inside Zachary High School. Dubbed the "Bronco Branch," it offers the same comprehensive retail functions as any other Bank of Zachary location, including check deposits and cash withdrawals, funds transfers between accounts, and a fully operational ATM.
In a strategic move to integrate real-world financial experience into the high school environment, the bank selected and trained four outstanding student tellers to manage the branch. These students, chosen through a rigorous interview process, impressed the selection committee with their exceptional resumes and interview skills. The chosen students will work alongside Ashley Boudreaux, one of the bank’s versatile Universal Bankers, ensuring smooth operations during school hours. Additionally, these student tellers will have the opportunity to gain further experience by working at other Bank of Zachary branches after school hours.
The construction and design of the Bronco Branch were handled by the bank’s trusted construction and architectural partners, ensuring that the new branch reflects the modern and updated aesthetic of their most recent retail branches. This project has been in the works for some time, with serious discussions between the bank and Zachary High School's administration beginning last spring. Construction kicked off as soon as the school year ended.
The inspiration for the Bronco Branch comes from the success of a similar initiative at Central Private in 2022, when the Bank of Zachary became the first bank to open an in-school branch. Recognizing the value of providing financial education and career readiness, the Bank of Zachary was eager to replicate this success at Zachary High School.
Alongside the bank’s daily operations, they will offer financial literacy and career readiness classes to students, aligning perfectly with the recent state legislature mandate that all public schools must provide financial education.

The Bank of Zachary is thrilled about this opportunity to engage with local students, offering them practical experience and valuable skills for their future. This initiative not only enhances the educational experience at Zachary High School but also reinforces the bank's commitment to community involvement and financial education.
