The ZCSD and the ZCSD School Board members were excited to honor the 2023-2024 Students of the Year representing each school in the district. The students’ principals shared the many wonderful qualities that each one of these students embodies. 

Kindness to others was a quality that they all had in common. Superintendent Necaise presented the students with an award and their own Great American Cookie cake.

The 2023-2024 Students of the year are:

• Rollins Place Elementary -Mai Pentney
• Zachary Elementary -Paiton Gould
• Copper Mill Elementary-Eryn Jenkins
• Northwestern Middle-Ila Best
• Zachary High-Nyla Doiron

Zachary High School junior Madelyn Snyder was also honored for being named as a finalist in the DEMCO Youth Tour essay contest. Superintendent Necaise presented her with a School Board medal. Her essay focused on the importance of education, teachers, and teacher compensation. She won a trip to Washington, D.C. this summer where she will represent our state. The district congratulates all of these dedicated students and their families.
