The Zachary High FFA held their first annual spring festival and plant sale on March 30, welcoming the community to their beautiful greenhouse and ag headquarters. There was a mini petting zoo, where children got to hold fluffy bunnies, comb a pony's mane, and pet dwarf goats. The high school's two greenhouses were loaded with hanging plants, flats of herbs, flowers and potted plants for sale. The steady stream of festivalgoers enjoyed field day-style games, and concessions were available for purchase.
Melissa Brumbaugh, a ZHS faculty member and head of the school's FFA program, says that all money raised goes towards the school's program. Additionally, $250 of the proceeds were donated to the Zachary food pantry.
The FFA is also offering a summer camp for kids aged 5-10. More information can be found here.
