South Plains Food Co. set to open by year’s end

Here at Porch & Parish, we love a good front porch. So, when we tell you that we were blown away by the massive front deck at South Plains Food Company, please understand that words can’t do it justice. It has two huge, covered eating areas, a state-of-the-art stage, and a mingling area that surrounds a live oak tree that must be seen to be believed. This space is going to be perfect for baseball teams to celebrate their big wins, live music fans, and anyone wanting to spend some time under the Louisiana sunset with a good drink and good friends.

Every detail of the restaurant experience has been meticulously planned by Joel Frosch to give guests and employees a 5-star experience. Want to pick up a quick to-go order to bring home to the family? There’s a dedicated to-go area to get you in and out in no time. Looking for a great date night spot? The indoor seating area is cozy and inviting, with one-of-a-kind tables designed by a local artisan. If catching a game at the bar is more your speed, there’s enough space at the bar for your entire fantasy football league! They’ve even included power outlets at the bar so you can keep your phone charged during the game.

The menu includes local favorites like The Good Stuff Spinach Dip and the Muffuletta, as well as steaks, BBQ, and a wide selection of house specialty seafood. Boudin Stuffed Oysters, anyone?  For those looking for something a little lighter, the Shrimp Remoulade Salad or Sauteed Veggie Plate provides options for everyone in your family. And drinks? Well, let’s just say that they have an entire room dedicated to housing their on-tap beers!

Of course, the big question on everyone’s mind is “when is this amazing place going to open?” There’s good news on that front! Despite the delays that came from the difficulties in building such an ambitious project, the finish line is near. They are currently hiring for all positions and hope to have all necessary approvals and permits in place by mid-November.  If you are interested in a position, you can email applications@southplainsfoodco.com or simply drop by the restaurant between 2:00 – 5:00 every day to submit your application.

This place is going to be something special, y’all.

Every dining room table is custom designed by a local artisan. Each table tells a story and will have a QR code so that patrons can learn more about its history.
Joel Frosch stands beside the tree that anchors the outdoor space and describes his vision for the expansive patio at South Plains. Behind him is the “snowball stand” style walk up bar. The stage, large enough for a 10 piece band, completes the shot.
Details, such as this rare Hemlock Mushroom Board, are everywhere to be found.
Thank Lisa Frosch for the abundance of power outlets that dot the bar. This space encourages guests to sit and stay a while.
And here’s the full menu!
