Candidate Ryan Talbot is a candidate for the Zachary Community School Board District 2 seat. His official announcement follows:
To my friends, family and neighbors, it is with great excitement that I announce my candidacy for the Zachary Community School Board – District 2 seat. My wife Amanda and I have discussed this and prayed about it and we feel that I can be of value to our community by serving in this role. Amanda and I moved to Zachary in 2008. All we knew of Zachary was that it was a small community and had the best public schools in the state. We have since come to love this community and are happy to call it home. Strong leadership and commitment has made Zachary what it is today. I would be honored to continue this tradition of excellence, so I humbly ask for your vote on November 8th.
Amanda and I started our new careers here in 2008, I as a financial advisor and Amanda as a pediatrician. Since then, we have been proud to call Zachary home. Our oldest daughter started pre-k in the Zachary Community School System and graduated from ZHS just this past spring. After graduating one child and with two younger children still in the school system, we are very pleased with the quality of education they have had and are still receiving. Like so many others that have children in this school system I share in the vested interest of seeing our school system continuing to be the best it can be.
With my past leadership experience I feel that I can work with others who share different ideas and backgrounds to offer unique perspectives and be of service to our community. While serving on the Zachary Rotary Club’s board and serving as President, I worked with others to serve those in need in our community. I also served on the Zachary Chamber of Commerce board and served as Chamber President to further economic development and prosperity for our local businesses. My family and I attend St. John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Zachary, and for several years I have worked with the youth of our church parish as a CCD teacher to grow and strengthen their faith. I humbly ask for your prayers, encouragement, and support during this upcoming election season. Please reach out if you would like to assist and join in our efforts. Thank you and God bless.
