English II Honors, Dual Enrollment English & ZHS Belles Dance Coach

How long have you taught?

I’m starting my 15th year.

Where did you grow up?

I’m from Lafayette & moved to the Baton Rouge area when I started college at LSU.

What’s your go-to fashion piece?

My denim jacket gets the most wear during the school year!

Why do you love being a teacher?

I love the people. I get to have the best conversations daily with some fabulous teenagers!

Describe your style in 5 words or less.

Fun, playful, trendy, comfy.

Give us a style tip!

Use accessories to change up your outfit.  A fun earring, headband, or belt can change the whole look!

Favorite places to shop?

I love local boutiques like Wanderlust by Abby and Bella Bella, but I shop online a lot at Shein, Madewell, J Crew, Petal and Pup.

“Melanie should be picked because she is a very kind hearted person, while she helps students become successful in school and dance. And she does all of that while rocking amazing outfits.”

Nominations

Nominations below are some of the many received.

– Aubri S.

“Anderson is so much more than a teacher. She is a mentor, guide, and so much more. She creates a home in her classroom that some students don’t have anywhere else in their life. She does this all while rocking bomb outfits every single day.”

– Lillie D.

“Her ability to put together outfits that are both trendy and reasonably priced is a gift.”

– Laurie C.
